STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A driver who ran his car off a Swedish highway was trapped in his vehicle for two days before rescue workers found him. Teijo Syrjalas, 32, said he probably fell asleep at the wheel on Saturday on his way from Harnosand on Sweden‘s central coast to Vasteras, about 450 kms (280 miles) south, before he crashed into brush at the side of the road, trapping his arm. Petrol leaked onto his body and burned his skin and he had no food or water. "The worst part was when I understood that no one would see me, that they might not find me, although I heard and saw cars the whole time," Syrjalas told the newspaper Dagens Nyheter on Wednesday from his hospital bed. A truck driver spotted the vehicle on Monday and called rescue authorities. Syrjalas was taken to hospital for treatment for burns.
