PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - A Cambodian woman was killed and a child was wounded when a "boom box" tape and compact disc player mysteriously exploded, police said on Monday. The music player had been dropped off at the home of the woman whose husband fixes the machines. The man who dropped it off warned the family the machine was dangerous and was catching fire when plugged in, police said. But the woman apparently ignored the warning that the machine should be checked before being turned on and she plugged it in late on Sunday, police said. "The woman plugged it into a wall socket and it exploded killing her instantly and wounding a child," Colonel Po Muth told Reuters. "We‘re not sure why it exploded. We‘ve found no evidence of a grenade or any other explosive." Police said their investigation was continuing.
