BRATISLAVA (SITA) - Christian-Democratic Movements František Mikloško handed over Slovak Parliamentary Speaker Ivan Gašparovič a proposal on giving non-confidence to Slovak Interior Minister Gustáv Krajči. Thirty deputies signed the proposal. "It will be interesting to see how deputies of the Slovak National Party (SNS) will handle the proposal, while SNS leader after the Žilina explosion said a policeman should lead the department not a teacher," Mikloško said. In June 1997 Speaker of Parliament Ivan Gašparovič called together a special parliamentary sessions with a non-confidence vote against Krajči, at the opposition`s request, which collected 39 signatures. However, the coalition deputies did not show up. In June 1997 Krajči has survived two non-confidence votes the opposition wanted to impose on him because of thwarting the referendum on NATO entry and direct presidential elections. Krajči already stirred the public opinion on March 10, 1997, when he ordered a police intervention against actors and students who, in a quiet protest, occupied the building of the Culture Ministry. That time Krajči also survived the non-confidence vote. Krajči replaced Ľ. Hudek in the interior minister post in August 1996.
