MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Boris Yeltsin will present a plan to overcome Russia‘s financial crisis to both houses of parliament at the end of this month, the Kremlin said on Tuesday. „It is expected that on June 30 in the Marble Hall of the Kremlin there will be a big discussion on that theme,“ Kremlin spokesman Sergei Yastrzhembsky told a news briefing. „The president is expected to deliver an anti-crisis programme.“ Speaking after a meeting between Yeltsin and 10 top Russian businessmen, Yastrzhembsky said the tycoons had made several proposals on how to overcome the investor nervousness which has caused sharp falls on Russian financial markets. These suggestions were likely to be implemented in a series of decrees from Yeltsin soon, the spokesman said. „Without revealing the substance of the proposals, I will say they concerned the tax system, the problem of non-payments and tariffs on gas, electricity and railways,“ he said. Yastrzhembsky said that those at the meeting had agreed the economic situation was difficult, but had praised the professionalism of the government and central bank. The businessmen said they supported the authorities and would issue a „signal“ of that support in the next few days. He did not say what form that would take.
