BRATISLAVA (SITA) - At its Friday session the Slovak Parliament approved a National Program of Drug Combat. Slovakia had 1,971 registered drug-addicts in 1997, most of them from Bratislava. All sectors of the state administration should pro-ceed jointly to achieve success, the report suggests. This would help to oppress growing problems related to drug-use, the report says. The program sets tasks for individual ministries. The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Family got the task of supporting the establishment of centers of prevention and re-socialization for drug-addicts at Consulting-Psychological Service Centers in all of Slovakia`s regions. The deadline is end of 1998. The Education Ministry has to involve anti-drug prevention in education process at all types of schools. The Ministry is responsible for training one worker at least in every school to coordinate teachers` education in this field. A report on broadcast in the Slovak Republic concluded the fourth day of the 47th parliamentary session. The document was not adopted as the necessary quorum was not achieved.
