KABUL (Reuters) - U.S. envoy Bill Richardson said on Friday that the Taleban Islamic militia had agreed to a unilateral ceasefire with its foes until peace talks start. Richardson, Washington`s ambassador to the United Nations, was speaking after more than two hours of talks in the Afghan capital with leaders of the Taleban. Richardson told reporters that the Taleban had agreed to hold initial talks with its opposition foes on April 27 in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. "The Taleban have committed to hold face to face negotiations with the northern alliance and until then there will be no military offensive," he said. Richardson was speaking before leaving Kabul for the northern Afghan town of Shibarghan for talks with the opposition. He will return to Islamabad later on Friday.
