BRATISLAVA (SITA) - The Slovak Intelligence Service directly manages the news desk of the public Slovak Television, Hungarian Civic Party (MOS) vice chairman Laszlo Gyurovszky told a press conference. STV fulfills tasks on orders from the secret service in the fight against "the internal enemy" and in the fight to prevent opposition's victory in the parliamentary election. The character of STV news recorded a considerable turn towards fabricated stories that are pushed forward to enable the ruling coalition's politicians to react. Gyurovszky mentioned a widely spread opinion about Hungarians' pushing for autonomy, presenting the ruling coalition as the only salvation. It is very primitive, but very dangerous way of waging the pre-election fight, Gyurovszky said. Matica Slovenska (national heritage organization) elaborated instructions for the revision to the Election Law to local governments, which serves as a clear example. To support his words, he cited Andrej Strýček, chair of the Trnava Regional Board of Matica Slovenska, who stated for SLOVENSKA REPUBLIKA on March 14 that "the state as a guarantor of the human rights of all citizens is obliged to temporarily implement also some power and political tools unless the aggressive pressure developed by political representatives of the Hungarian Coalition (MK) and the Hungarian government interference into the internal affairs of our republic abates and until the process of Slovaks' de-nationalization in their own state continues". As for Gyurovszky, these words are an open challenge for disrespect democracy, the constitution, and principles of a civic society in southern Slovakia.
