JAKARTA (Reuters) - President Suharto is expected to name a trimmed down cabinet by the end of this week to tackle the financial crisis that has devastated Indonesia's economy. Government sources said cabinet ministers were expected to be included in a top--level delegation due to leave for Washington next Tuesday for talks on the crisis with U.S. officials and the International Monetary Fund. Suharto was inaugurated for a seventh five-year term by the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Wednesday, but the normally lengthy process of selecting a new cabinet has been speeded up due to the need for quick action on the economic situation. Various sources suggested the size of the cabinet was likely to be cut back to around 25, from 49 in the last government. This would make the cabinet more manageable and also help cut budget costs. U.S. officials in particular have questioned Indonesia's commitment to reforms agreed with the IMF in return for a bailout package of more than $40 billion.
