ZURICH (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier on rescue manoeuvres in the Swiss Alps had to be rescued himself on Tuesday after falling under the hooves of a panicked deer, Swiss officials said. The unnamed soldier was taking part in a night-time mission to find a Swiss military pilot after a simulated crash in mountains around the Bernina pass, near the Swiss-Italian border, the national air rescue service Rega said. "While descending through a steep forest, a 35-year-old American was trampled by a startled deer and injured," Rega said without specifying the injuries. The soldier was taken by helicopter to a hospital in nearby Poschiavo.
