BRATISLAVA (SITA)- The Slovak Interior Ministry registered the Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK) as a political party on Tuesday morning. The SDK submitted the registration proposal at the Interior Ministry on February 25. The SDK responded by this step to the draft amendment to the election law brought to Parliament by deputies of the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS). It changes conditions for the creation of pre-election coalitions. Representatives of the KDH, the DU, the DS, the SDSS, and the Greens, SZS, agreed on a pre-election coalition on June 14, 1997. They formulated their coalition agreement on June 24 and signed it on July 3. The coalition wants to win elections and bring democracy, prosperity and freedom for Slovakia.
