BRATISLAVA (SITA) - The flight of the first Slovak spaceman will cost 15 million USD, and the cost will be subtracted the Russian debt towards Slovakia. The Slovak Cabinet, at its last session, charged Defense Ministry State Secretary Jozef Gajdoš to sign agreement between the Ministry and Russian Cosmonaut Agency of Korolov, the Defense Ministry Press Department's Katarína Heimschildová announced at a press conference on Monday. She added that the sum embraces the preparation of the two potential spacemen, the transport of one of them to the Russian space station Mir, the stay and research, and transport back to Earth. The flight will last eight days. Commenting on the research project, Heimschildová said that the selection committee, consisting of representatives of the Education Ministry and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, selected six of 12 research projects, from which the concrete task will be chosen. Five tasks concern the impact of being in the space on the man while the sixth elaborates the influence of low gravity on the post-embryo development of Japanese quail.
