Media reports have suggested that several members of his 11-member cabinet, including Foreign Minister Ioannis Cassoulides and Finance Minister Christodoulos Christodoulou, will keep their posts. "All ministers placed their resignations at the disposal of the president," government spokesman Manolis Christofides told reporters after the cabinet met for the last time on Wednesday. Most political parties are expected to be represented in the new administration with the exception of the centre-right Democratic Party and communist AKEL. Both parties, which supported the bid of former foreign minister George Iakovou in the elections, turned down Clerides' offer to participate in a unity government. Clerides clinched 50.8 percent of the vote in the February 15 poll, compared to Iakovou's 49.2 percent.
