Two Finnish Policemen were Killed in Burglary Probe
HELSINKI (Reuters) - Two Finnish policemen were shot dead on Wednesday when they investigated a suspected burglary at a Helsinki hotel, police said. The officers found a hotel receptionist tied up and then chased a person they believed to be a burglar.

Shortly afterwards they were shot dead in a nearby street. Violent crime is rare in Finland and police officers are seldom involved in a shootouts with criminals. Interior Minister Jan-Erik Enestam told Finnish television that the incident showed the police were under increasing threat from criminals.
