CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh (Reuter) - Wild elephants have killed three people and injured several in Bangladesh`s southern Chittagong district over the past three days, police said on Wednesday. They said a herd of about 15 elephants stormed villages in the Fatikchhari area of Chittagong at night, knocking down houses and damaging crops. On October 2, police said they had launched a massive campaign in southeastern Bangladesh to drive away wild elephants that had killed at least 20 people in four months. Police were unable to say why the elephants were leaving their usual jungle habitat and roaming into villages.
