Organized in cooperation with the Departments and Programs of Central European University (CEU).
Applicants for Spring Sessions must: * Be university teachers and/or other professionals in the Social Sciences and Humanities from the region who are preparing new or revising previously taught courses; * Submit an outline of a course plan with their application and indicate the kind of materials they would like to gather during their visit; * Bring curriculum materials from their home university to contribute to the CRC syllabi collection; * Have sufficient English language ability to participate in discussions and use resource materials. All costs related to transportation and accommodation during the sessions will be covered by CRC.

CEU SUMMER UNIVERSITY, BUDAPEST
# The Mission of the Program:
Initiated in July 1996, the Summer University (SUN) is an academic program for university professors, administrators and professionals. It offers a series of intensive two, three or four-week courses in the social sciences and humanities to encourage and promote regional academic cooperation and curriculum development by drawing together young faculty in lectures, seminars and workshops.
# The Description of the Program:
Courses are led by professors from Central Europcan University (CEU) departments/programs as well as other regional or western universities. The courses are supplemented by public lectures, optional evening Internet instruction and English language writing tutorials.
# Eliglbility and Funding:
Applications are invited from any country. All participants from Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union will receive a grant covering fuition cost, accommodation, travel, health insurance, and a book allowance. They will also include a stipend to cover meals and incidentals.
# Applicants must have a university degree and hold a teaching job at a university or college in their home country, or work as an administrator or a professional. Graduate students with teaching experience may also apply. Undergraduates without a university degree witl not be considered.
# The language of instruction is English. Preference will be given to new applicants over former participants in Summer University courses. Former CEU students may only apply if they currently hold a teaching position in their home country.
Applications must be received by the Summer University Office no later than February 1, 1998.
