LONDON (Reuters) - Eight London churches claiming that soccer fans are being encouraged to put the game before God plan a noisy protest by ringing their bells during a top English club match next Sunday. Premier League side Aston Villa, which began as a Methodist church club, had been accused by ministers from the eight churches of abandoning its roots by playing a home match against Chelsea on the Sabbath, the Daily Telegraph said. The match was moved from Saturday afternoon to Sunday after Sky television decided it was worthy of live coverage. "They are very loud bells and we are hoping that they will be heard tolling throughout the match while Sky is broadcasting the game," the Reverend Keith Sinclair, vicar of Aston parish church, was quoted as saying.
