VIENNA (Reuters) - Thousands of holidaymakers were trapped in western Austrian ski resorts on Monday after the heaviest snowfall in decades over the weekend. The popular resorts of St Anton, Lech and Zuers as well as the Tyrolean Paznaun valley were cut off as avalanches buried mountain passes, Austrian automobile association OeAMTC said. Over 1.70 metres (5.6 feet) of new snow blanketed the region during the weekend.
