The jury further awarded three pictures in the amateur category and one picture in the audio category. The winning movie „The War of Ants“, shot in 1997, shows the war and peace between red ants, their every-day fight for survival of the community and analyses the laws of their life. Among the amateurs, the Slovak pictures „The Story about Apple, Clay, and Soul“ by Miloš Hulman, „The Life for Tatras‘ Brooks“ by Lubor Patsch, and „Four Seasons“ by the Amavet SEV SAZP association from Poniklec harvested success. Visitors had a chance to see 75 movies from 26 countries, for the first time also from France, Finland, Lithuania, and Estonia, within the category of professional production. The category of amateur production was included for the first time.
