BRATISLAVA (SITA) - The Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK) has never had any list of allegedly bribed journalists, so it can neither confirm nor deny the information that the state-run TASR news agency published. The SDK has nothing to do with TASR‘s list. Moreover, the fact that TASR refers to a well-informed source from the SDK questions the veracity of their article, SDK spokesman Martin Lengyel told SITA. It is not out of question that someone wants to cast doubts on the freedom of journalists and undermine trust of citizens in media in Slovakia. It is in the interest of citizens and also journalists that the case be cleared and all the doubts dispersed. The SDK appeals to everyone, who can provide further information to do it publicly, Lengyel claimed. Along with Štefan Hríb, Dáša Matejčíková, Aleš Krátký, and Igor Stupňan, the TASR list includes Zuzana Kusová, Štefan Vadocz, Zita Sujová, Anna Vargová, Martin Skopec, Maria Snopeková, Miriam Fiťmová, Pavol Pavlík, Alena Gottweisová, Andrea Vadkertiová, and František Meliš. There is no list of journalists to whom the Slovak Democratic Coalition (SDK) allegedly offered bribes. Former consultant to the SDK election team Adriana Hosťovecká told SITA she has never prepared written a list of journalists to whom she offered cooperation. She was reacting to the list that circulates in the journalist community, which the state-run TASR also disseminated.
