des of the International Atomic Energy Agency is decisive. However, the time to activate the fuel has not come yet, Meciar told a gathering of Technical University`s Academic Senate in Zvolen, attended by about 500 students, educators and guests. Mečiar emphasized that the Austrian side has not fulfilled some of the conditions concerning the Walkdown mission the expert team at the Mochovce nuclear power plant. The team has failed to elaborate a final report, and Austria now operates with the opinions of one single member of the team, Mečiar complained. He says Austria has politicized the problem, although it has not been given such access to any other nuclear power plant but Mochovce. According to Mečiar, Mochovce should be the last nuclear power plant in Slovakia. Further development of electricity production should take the path of gas/steam systems. Meciar left open the issue of closing Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear power plant down. He underscored that Slovakia has to fix its unbalanced energy situation. He thinks that Moscow`s decision on constructing the gas-pipeline from Russia through Warsaw to Zilina to Austria might help the situation.
