Palko stresses that also people who allegedly did not care about politics and surprisingly also voters of the current ruling coalition's parties are signing the petition. Regarding this fact Palko was critical about mass media that pay less attention to the petition than the citizens. The petition, initiated by the Slovak Democratic (SDK) and Hungarian Coalitions, will last at least until May 12, when Parliament starts its debate on the amendment to the election law. The petition started on March 25 on the 10th anniversary of the Bratislava "Candle-light Demonstration". KDH chair Ján Čarnogurský also informed on the Wednesday talks of the SDK board that adopted a proposal of the Christian Democrats to express support to the founding of a Catholic University in Kosice in its election program. The SDK will also support such a treaty between Slovakia and the Vatican that will not stipula te a notification duty for appointments of bishops.
