BRATISLAVA (SITA) - At his Monday meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar, Martin Bangemann, a European Commission member, suggested organizing an economic conference for representatives of foreign banking and financial circles, industrial, telecommunication, and transport branches in Bratislava. The sponsor of the conference, scheduled for June or July, should be the European Commission and the Slovak Prime Minister. "Vladimir Mečiar accepted the offer with pleasure," spokesman for the Prime Minister Jozef Krošlák told journalists after the meeting. Mečiar presented Slovak Telecommunication's interest in finding a strategic partner before Bangemann, who is responsible for industrial policies and information and telecommunication technologies in the European Commission.
