on Tuesday that MacPherson was resting in a Manhattan hotel after an uncomplicated labour last Saturday lasting just 30 minutes. "She's very strong, she's very fit," Elle's father Peter Gow told Channel Ten television before boarding an aircraft for the United States. The baby, weighing 3.2 kg (7.1 lb), would be named Arpad Flynn Busson, after his Swiss financier father, Arpad "Arkie" Busson, said Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper. The child, MacPherson's first, would be known to the couple as Flynn, the newspaper reported. Gow said he was unaware of any plans by the couple to marry. The Los Angeles-based MacPherson, 34, has branched out from her lucrative modelling career into acting in recent years and recent movie credits include "Mom's Up On The Roof", "Batman and Robin", "If Lucy Fell" and "Sirens". The accomplished businesswoman can still charge up to US$100,000 a day as a model and has a women's underwear label. MacPherson is also a partner in a theme restaurant chain with a group of other supermodels. She and Busson have been friends for several years. Her relationship with Busson followed a parade of high-profile and wealthy boyfriends that included French photographer Yann Gamblin, English multi-millionaire art dealer Tim Jefferies, U.S. actor Sean Penn and the late rock star Michael Hutchence. Elle married French photographer Gilles Bensimon in 1986, but their relationship fell apart six years later when she discovered he was having an affair with another model.
