Slovak Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar sent an official proposal to split the function of Vice Premier and Finance Minister, occupied by Sergej Kozlík, and simultaneously to recall Kozlik from the post of the Fina nce Minister to President Kováč on December 16. Kozlík considers Maxon, head of the Parliamentary Committee for Finance, Budget and Currency, to be "the best from the potential candidates" for this post. Along with this Kozlík excluded that the reason of this personal change were his personal disputes with Prime Minister Mečiar. He stressed that the proposal for his recall is based on political talks. Kozlík also confirmed a long-term agreement with Mečiar to split his double-function position.
