SINGAPORE (Reuter) - Four Thais were sentenced to two months in prison each on Thursday for torturing a dog with an acetyelene torch, state television said. It said the group had intended to catch and cook the mongrel to eat on September 2. It quoted police as telling a Singapore court the group had used a pipe to hit the animal and then burnt it with the torch. Police found the dog alive but badly injured. It was later put down by a veterinary surgeon.
