DUBAI (Reuters) - Jailed British nurse Lucille McLauchlan was married in a Saudi courthouse in the city of Dammam on Sunday, a British Embassy spokesman in Riyadh said. McLauchlan, sentenced to eight years in prison and 500 lashes for her part in the murder of an Australian colleague, was married to Grant Ferrie, her long-time boyfriend. The ceremony was performed by a Saudi judge in accordance with Islamic sharia law observed in Saudi Arabia, the spokesman said. McLauchlan was given away by her brother John. The only other person present was British consul Lawson Ross. After the brief ceremony the newly wed couple went to a nearby police station for a reception attended by McLauchlan's co-defendant Deborah Parry and relatives of Parry visiting her from Britain, the embassy spokesman said. Policemen joined in the reception.
