MADRID (Reuters) - A Spanish man burned his ex-wife to death after she complained on a television programme that he had abused her repeatedly during their marriage, Spanish newspapers said on Thursday. Angered by the public accusations, the man beat his 60-year-old wife until she was nearly unconscious, doused her with petrol and set her afire in the garden of the home they shared in the town of Cullar Vega near Granada. The couple`s 14-year-old son witnessed the murder. The attack came after the woman appeared on a popular television programme and said she had been beaten and raped repeatedly during the years of her marriage. The couple had divorced two years ago but they still lived in the same home. The man surrendered to the Civil Guard and confessed to the crime, newspapers said. Civil Guard officials could not be reached for comment. The daily El Mundo said the woman was the 59th woman murdered by her husband in Spain this year.
